WHAT KINDS OF PROGRAMMING IS OFFERED IN SUMMER L.I.F.E.?
Our most-popular program components are offered each summer. However, new and exciting program components are added each year to honor students' interests and needs.
Past program components have included:
Sailing Aboard the Brilliant schooner in Mystic, CT
Hiking the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire
Exploring the history of the Outer Banks, NC
- Social Skills Programs for Primary, Youth, and Teens (including Acting Antics classes)
- Science Programs (facilitated by Mad Science of West NJ)
- Outdoor Adventure Programs (weekend camping, canopy tours, rock climbing, hiking, etc)
- Entertainment Programs (including Film School and Dramatic Arts)
- Sports Programs (including karate and total conditioning programs)
- Horseback Riding Programs (beginners and intermediate)
WHO ATTENDS SUMMER L.I.F.E.?
Youth and young adults who participate in SUMMER L.I.F.E. display a wide array of abilities. Youth who benefit are often classified with one or more of the following disabilities:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Anxiety Disorder
- Bipolar Disorder
- Tourette’s Syndrome
- Neurological Impairment (NI)
- Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED)
- Other Health Impairment (OHI)
Additionally, family members of youth with special needs and community/neighborhood friends often join our programs - offering age-appropriate social and behavioral models.
WHERE IS SUMMER L.I.F.E.?
SUMMER L.I.F.E. programming includes experiences for a wide range of ages and abilities, with emphasis placed on offering engaging, unique learning opportunities on campus, in the community, and beyond.
During the months of July and August, program components take place across a variety of settings, including:
- on our 26+ acre campus in Paoli, PA
- throughout the local community
- across the East Coast (NH, CT, NC)
Program components include one-, two-, and three week sessions that can include half-day, full-day, and overnight hours.
