ESY 101 Workshop

Many students with special needs may be entitled by law to ESY—Extended School Year services (Special education services beyond the regular school year). If the student meets one or more of the criteria, he/she is entitled to ESY services. Join us to learn more about the ESY determination process, each of the qualifying criterion and what is needed in order to effectively advocate for these services.
This event is free of charge to all families and professionals. Act 48 credits available ($10 fee required).

2013 Summer Matters “Open House”
Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 7:00pm-8:30pm (Snow Date: March 6, 2013)
Location: VFES Activities Center, 1777 N. Valley Road, Malvern, PA 19355 (Use Entrance A)
The Summer Matters Program will host an “Open House” to provide interested families and professionals with detailed information about its 2013 program offerings, as well as an overview of the division. Summer programs for 2013 include: Summer Voyagers, Summer L.I.F.E., The ESY Program at The Vanguard School and The Vanguard Transition Center Summer Experience.
This event is free of charge to all families and professionals.

Saturday, May 4, 2013, 11:00am-3:00pm
Summer Matters families, and all families in the community with children with special needs, are invited to attend Community Day on the VFES campus. The event will feature free, sensory-friendly activities and games, a basket raffle, refreshments, and more. Check the Community Day page for exciting updates.

Members of the community are invited to come learn about day, residential, academic and therapeutic camps and programs that support youth who learn differently. Free of charge to the community.
Representatives from over 30 programs from the Southeastern PA region will be present to answer your questions and provide you with valuable information about their 2013 offerings.

The “Special Kids” Camp Expo showcases recreational and educational summer programs, and educates parents about the options available to their children with learning differences and/or special needs during the summer months. Additionally, year-round recreational programs will be represented. We consider this a valuable community service — one we are proud to offer. Free of charge for all families.
